GANDHINAGAR, May 28 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a massive roadshow in Gandhinagar on Tuesday morning, drawing large crowds waving the national flag as part of his two-day visit to his home state of Gujarat.
The roadshow, which began at Raj Bhavan and concluded at Mahatma Mandir, marked Modi’s fourth such event during his Gujarat tour, following similar public appearances in Vadodara, Bhuj, and Ahmedabad on Monday. Supporters lined the streets in significant numbers, many waving the tricolour and chanting slogans as Modi passed through the capital city in an open vehicle.
This is Modi’s first visit to Gujarat since Operation Sindoor, India’s military retaliation to the April 22 terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The high-profile trip is seen as both a political statement and a public outreach effort ahead of the next phase of the general election.
The Prime Minister’s schedule includes a series of inaugurations and public meetings as part of the government’s development push in the region.
