Ranchi, July 24 : The Jharkhand State Cooperative Bank Ltd. (JSCB) has reported a strong financial performance for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, with its total business crossing the ₹4,000 crore mark and the lender posting a healthy profit, reflecting a sustained turnaround in its operations.

According to the bank’s audited financial statements, total business, comprising deposits and advances, rose to ₹4,042.53 crore during FY26, compared with ₹3,766 crore in the previous financial year.

The bank’s deposit base grew by 9.2 per cent to ₹2,866.28 crore as of March 31, 2026, from ₹2,624.61 crore a year earlier. Advances also registered steady growth, increasing by around 3.1 per cent to ₹1,176.25 crore from ₹1,141.39 crore in FY25.

JSCB reported a net profit of ₹26.23 crore during the year. After making a tax provision of ₹7.22 crore, the bank posted a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹19.01 crore. Its accumulated profit after taxation rose to ₹32.85 crore, indicating continued profitability and improved financial stability.

The bank also strengthened its balance sheet, which expanded to ₹4,389.64 crore during FY26 from ₹4,130.88 crore in the previous financial year. Investments increased to ₹1,085.40 crore, while reserves and surplus grew to ₹94.28 crore from ₹75.19 crore, reflecting stronger internal financial reserves.

JSCB’s capital stood at ₹163.35 crore, while borrowings were reported at ₹886.53 crore at the end of the financial year.

The latest financial results underline the bank’s remarkable recovery over the past three years. Once burdened with accumulated losses of nearly ₹90 crore, the cooperative lender has successfully returned to sustained profitability through improved governance, financial discipline, prudent management and stronger business mobilisation.

The turnaround has been attributed to the leadership of Chairperson Vibha Singh, the Board of Directors and the bank’s management team, who have steered the institution towards financial stability and sustainable growth.

Bank officials said the improved financial performance would strengthen JSCB’s ability to expand banking services, support cooperative institutions and enhance credit flow across Jharkhand, particularly in the agriculture and rural sectors. The bank aims to build on its current momentum by further improving operational efficiency and expanding its customer base in the coming years.
