Ranchi, July 14: Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri has initiated disciplinary action against the Circle Officer of Anagada following multiple complaints received during the district’s public grievance hearing (Janata Darbar).

The officer has been served with show-cause notices in four separate cases, while an inquiry committee has been ordered in one matter.

The complaints include delays in correcting land records despite online approval, failure to issue online land tax receipts, and prolonged delays in processing revenue-related services.

The Deputy Commissioner sought an explanation from the concerned official over the reported administrative lapses.

In another case, the Deputy Commissioner directed action after allegations that forged documents were used to illegally register and occupy land in Maheshpur village under the Anagada Circle in violation of the Chotanagpur Tenancy (CNT) Act.

A show-cause notice has been issued to the Circle Officer in connection with the matter.

The district administration has also ordered a joint inquiry into allegations of encroachment on government land in the Morabadi area, along with complaints regarding its use for private parking and commercial activities.

The Sub-Divisional Officer and Ranchi Municipal Corporation officials have been instructed to conduct the investigation and recommend action in accordance with the law.

Separately, complaints alleging irregularities in the selection of Anganwadi workers in Silli Block have been referred to the District Social Welfare Officer for an impartial investigation and appropriate action.

During the Janata Darbar, the Deputy Commissioner also directed officials to provide an electric tricycle to a person with disabilities, Deepak Kumar Mahto.

In another humanitarian intervention, he instructed authorities to facilitate treatment for a pregnant woman suffering from a serious heart condition after her family sought financial and medical assistance for a safe delivery.

The Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to addressing public grievances promptly and ensuring accountability through transparent investigations and appropriate administrative action.
