Jamshedpur, February 21: A unique literary gathering titled “Kalam Ka Karwaan: Syahi Se Shikhar Tak Ka Safar” brought the focus on the personal journeys and struggles behind literary creation, offering inspiration and insight to aspiring writers in Jamshedpur on Saturday.

Organised by Sahitya Sindhika in collaboration with Humans of Jamshedpur, the event was held at Cafe Regal and moved beyond conventional poetry readings and book discussions to explore the lived experiences that shape writers and their work.

Prominent literary figures including Jainandan, Anni Amrita and Pratibha Prasad shared candid reflections on their creative journeys, discussing challenges such as rejection, self-doubt, financial hardship and social pressures. Their narratives underscored that literature emerges not merely from imagination but from lived experience and perseverance.

The session, anchored by Anita Nidhi, emphasised that a writer’s identity is shaped through patience, disciplined practice and a strong sense of social responsibility. Founder-writer Anshuman Bhagat said the initiative aims to bring writers and readers closer by highlighting the untold aspects of literary journeys often hidden behind published works.

Other writers, including Arun Sajjan, Soni Sugandha, Sudha Goyal, Ajay Kumar Prajapati, Kamal Kishore Verma, Madhuri Mishra, Uday Pratap Hayat, Chhaya Prasad and Upasna Sinha, added emotional depth to the evening by sharing personal experiences that resonated strongly with the audience.

The event also reflected social and environmental responsibility by adopting a zero-waste format and avoiding plastic use, reinforcing the role of literature in promoting conscious and responsible living.

Announcing future plans, Bhagat said “Kalam Ka Karwaan” will be expanded to major literary centres such as Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi and Lucknow, with the aim of creating wider platforms for writers to share the personal experiences that define the essence of literature.

The initiative marked a significant step in strengthening literary dialogue in Jamshedpur, transforming personal struggles into collective inspiration and reinforcing the idea that literature is deeply rooted in real-life experiences.
