RANCHI, August 23 : Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto will launch a state-wide ‘Recruitment System Reform Yatra’ in Jharkhand on August 24, seeking greater transparency, accountability and a corruption-free recruitment process in the JPSC and JSSC examinations.
The campaign, being held under the slogan “24 Districts, 24 Resolutions, One Voice”, aims to mobilise students and job aspirants across the state and highlight concerns over alleged irregularities in the recruitment system.
The second phase of the “JPSC-JSSC Corruption-Free Recruitment Campaign” will begin from Lukaiya Tand in Nemra, the ancestral village of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren in Ramgarh district, Mahto said.
According to Mahto, the yatra will be inaugurated following Jharkhand’s traditional customs. The launch programme will include traditional rituals in the presence of senior pahans, the national anthem accompanied by the madar, tributes to prominent leaders and the planting of a sal sapling.
The student leader said the campaign would seek to create awareness and build public support among youth and recruitment aspirants on issues concerning transparency, accountability and fairness in government examinations.
The yatra will begin in Ramgarh and pass through several districts, including Hazaribagh, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Latehar, Palamu, Garhwa and Ranchi.
The campaign comes amid continuing protests and political debate over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
Mahto said the initiative would continue to press for reforms aimed at ensuring a transparent, fair and accountable recruitment system for the state’s youth.
