Jharkhand, August 23 : A migrant worker from Bagodar in Jharkhand’s Giridih district is reportedly stranded in Dubai, with his family unable to contact him for the past five days.
Rameshwar Das, a resident of Atka village under Bagodar police station, had travelled to Dubai in search of employment. His family has now appealed to the government to ensure his safe return to India.
According to his relatives, Das travelled to Dubai on May 6, 2026, through a contractor on a tourist visa in search of work. They said he has been trying to return home for nearly four months but has been unable to do so.
The family said they have not been able to speak to him for the last five days and his mobile phone has remained switched off. This has raised concerns among his relatives, who fear that he may have encountered some difficulty.
The family had reportedly taken a loan to send Das abroad, hoping that his employment in Dubai would help improve their financial condition.
However, his prolonged stay in Dubai and the sudden loss of contact have increased the family’s anxiety. They have urged the government and authorities to intervene and facilitate his safe return to Jharkhand.
