Ranchi, Aug 24: The Jharkhand Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has expanded its probe into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), carrying out searches at coaching centres in Ranchi and Hazaribagh, officials said. The searches were conducted at Shivangan Ki Pathshala in Lalpur, Ranchi, and Megha Coaching Centre in Hazaribagh.

The residence of Shivangan Ki Pathshala director and operator Sanjeet Kumar at Ratu Road in Ranchi was also searched, officials said.Investigators collected documents and other materials during the searches, which are being examined to determine whether the coaching institutes or their operators had any connection with the alleged manipulation of the examination process.

The CID is investigating allegations involving manipulation of OMR answer sheets, providing answers to candidates during examinations and attempts to influence the recruitment process.Investigators are also examining whether question papers were accessed before examinations and whether candidates allegedly received assistance from outside examination centres.

The agency suspects that an organised network involving candidates, agents, coaching operators and other individuals may have been operating to facilitate examination malpractice. Mobile phone records, transaction details, candidate information and other documents are being examined to establish possible links and trace the alleged financial trail.

The probe was registered as CID Police Station Case No. 16/2026. The agency had earlier arrested several candidates and alleged intermediaries, whose statements are now being compared with material recovered during the latest searches.Meanwhile, the CID Special Investigation Team continued questioning in a separate case involving alleged irregularities in Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examinations.

Abhay Kumar Tiwari, also known as Manoj Kumar Tiwari, was questioned for the second consecutive day. Investigators have described him as an alleged key figure in the case. He was reportedly working as a marketing manager with TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL), the agency involved in conducting examinations.

Tiwari’s wife, Sushma Kumari, and brother, Akshay Tiwari, are also being questioned, according to officials. The investigators are seeking details about the alleged examination network, the assistance purportedly provided to candidates, financial transactions and the possible movement of examination-related material.

The CID is examining who allegedly helped candidates, the amount of money involved, the channels through which payments were made and how question papers or answers were allegedly accessed. The two investigations are part of a wider scrutiny of alleged irregularities in Jharkhand’s recruitment examination system.

The CID is examining possible links among candidates, agents, coaching operators and people associated with examination-related agencies.Further action will be taken after investigators analyse the documents and other evidence collected during the searches and questioning.

The allegations remain under investigation and do not by themselves establish the guilt of any individual or institution.
