RANCHI, August 22: The ‘Abhyarthi Nyay Manch’, a forum of candidates appearing for Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) recruitment examinations, has announced a statewide ‘Bharti Vyavastha Sudhar Yatra’ from August 24, amid continuing protests over alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.
The proposed yatra will pass through all 24 districts of Jharkhand, the forum said, as candidates step up their campaign seeking reforms in the recruitment system and action on alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.
The announcement comes a day after clashes were reported between protesting students and supporters of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in Ranchi, Giridih and Hazaribagh.
In Ranchi, protesting students also took out a march against Chief Minister Hemant Soren and accused the state government of misleading job aspirants over the recruitment process.
The candidates’ forum has now warned of intensifying its agitation if the state government fails to strongly present its case during the Jharkhand High Court hearing scheduled for September 15.
The forum said that in such a situation, candidates would march towards the Chief Minister’s residence and launch an indefinite road blockade.
The dispute over recruitment examinations has intensified in the state following allegations of irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations. Student groups have been demanding corrective measures and greater transparency in the recruitment process.
The proposed statewide campaign is expected to bring the issue to candidates across Jharkhand’s 24 districts and put further pressure on the state government ahead of the September 15 court hearing.
