Jharkhand police paste notice at absconding accused’s residence

Jharkhand, Aug 21 : Legal pressure has intensified against an accused individual who has been evading arrest for a long time in connection with a narcotics trafficking case registered under the NDPS Act. On Friday, a Jharkhand Police team arrived at Kamdharpur village under the Koransarai police station area in Buxar district, Bihar, and pasted a court-issued proclamation notice at the house of the absconding accused, Hari Upadhyay.

According to available details, Hari Upadhyay, son of Kashinath Upadhyay and a resident of Kamdharpur, is a named accused in an NDPS Act case registered in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. Since the incident, he has been continuously fleeing to evade arrest.

Taking note of the matter, the Hazaribagh court issued a public notice (ishtehar) against him. In compliance with the judicial order, the visiting Jharkhand Police team, with the support of local Koransarai police, carried out the procedure of beating drums and affixing the notice at the accused’s ancestral residence.

Police officials stated that if the accused fails to surrender before the court or the police within the stipulated timeframe, legal proceedings for the attachment and seizure of his property will be initiated following further orders from the court.
