Gorakhpur, Mar 30: The two-day ‘Global Artificial Intelligence Confluence 2026’ concluded here on Saturday, with speakers emphasising that the future of artificial intelligence (AI) will be shaped by the decisions taken today.
Addressing the closing session, Nepal MP Sandeep Rana described the confluence as a commendable initiative and highlighted the need for responsible and forward-looking approaches in AI development.
The event was organised under the joint aegis of World Organisation of Students and Youth (WOSY), Meta, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University.
It brought together around 180 students from 26 countries, along with policymakers, academicians and technology experts.
The confluence featured multiple sessions over two days, focusing on themes such as AI for accessibility, culture and education in the age of AI, and entrepreneurship driven by emerging technologies.
Experts deliberated on both the opportunities and challenges posed by AI, stressing the importance of inclusive growth, ethical frameworks and innovation-led development.
Speakers also highlighted the growing role of startups and educational institutions in shaping AI ecosystems, particularly in countries like India where digital initiatives are expanding rapidly.
The event concluded with a call for global collaboration and knowledge-sharing to ensure that AI technologies are developed and deployed in a manner that benefits society at large.
