New Delhi, Jul 31: The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) on Friday recognised 64 scientists and innovators at its Delhi campus for their contributions to intellectual property creation, including 47 patents, three copyrights and eight research papers.
The awards were presented during C-DOT’s Annual Intellectual Property (IP) Awards Ceremony 2026, organised to acknowledge researchers, engineers and technology experts whose work has contributed to the expansion of the organisation’s intellectual property portfolio.C-DOT, the telecom research and development institution under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, has been working on indigenous technologies aimed at strengthening India’s telecommunications capabilities and supporting technological self-reliance.
C-DOT Chief Executive Officer Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay congratulated the awardees and said innovation remained central to the organisation’s efforts to develop secure and future-ready telecom solutions.
He said that patents, research publications and other intellectual assets created by C-DOT researchers were contributing to India’s technological capabilities and supporting the broader vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The organisation’s intellectual property portfolio covers several emerging areas, including next-generation communication systems, cybersecurity, quantum communication, artificial intelligence-based telecom applications, disaster management technologies and digital public infrastructure.
C-DOT said its continued focus on research and intellectual property creation was aimed at developing technologies that address national requirements while improving India’s competitiveness in the global telecommunications sector.
The Delhi event followed a similar Annual IP Awards Ceremony held at C-DOT’s Bengaluru campus, where 78 innovators were recognised for their contributions.The Bengaluru campus recorded 36 patents, 18 copyrights, nine trademarks and three research papers, highlighting the range of research and innovation activities across the organisation.
The combined achievements of the Delhi and Bengaluru campuses underline C-DOT’s efforts to promote indigenous technology development, strengthen intellectual property creation and support India’s growing role in telecommunications innovation.
