New Delhi, Oct 11: Indian Navy warship INS Sahyadri arrived at Vladivostok in Russia on October 10 to participate in the bilateral naval exercise INDRA-2026, scheduled from October 13 to 18, the Defence Ministry said.
The exercise between the Indian Navy and the Russian Federation Navy will involve professional interactions, harbour activities and coordinated operational manoeuvres at sea to enhance mutual understanding, operational coordination and interoperability between the two navies.
The deployment reinforces the longstanding defence and maritime partnership between India and Russia and aligns with India’s vision of OCEAN (Mutual and Inclusive Progress for Security and Development in the Region), the ministry said in a statement.

It also provides an opportunity to build on the momentum generated by the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit held on December 4-5, 2025.
In addition to operational engagements, the exercise will feature social and cultural exchanges aimed at strengthening professional ties, mutual goodwill and people-to-people relations between personnel of the two navies.
