Hyderabad, Jan 3: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has released the timetable for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) March 2026 for both 1st year (Junior Inter) and 2nd year (Senior Inter) students, bringing clarity to lakhs of candidates across the state.
According to the notification, the Intermediate Practical Examinations 2026 will be conducted from February 2 to February 21, 2026. The practicals, which mainly apply to Science stream students, will cover subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and vocational courses. Examinations will be held in two sessions daily — from 9 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm — across designated centres, including Sundays.
The board has scheduled English practical examinations separately, with 1st year students appearing on January 21, 2026, and 2nd year students on January 22, 2026.
In a significant relief to engineering aspirants, TGBIE has announced special arrangements for students appearing for JEE Main 2026. Candidates whose JEE schedule clashes with Intermediate practical exams will be permitted to appear for practicals on alternative dates. Such students must inform their college principals in advance and submit supporting documents such as the JEE admit card.
The Intermediate theory examinations will be conducted in a single morning shift from 9 am to 12 pm, with one paper per day. As per the schedule, 1st year exams will be held from February 25 to March 17, 2026, while 2nd year exams will run from February 26 to March 18, 2026. The board has revised certain dates due to festivals, shifting exams originally scheduled for March 3 to March 4, 2026.
The timetable covers all streams, including Science (MPC, BiPC), Commerce (CEC, MEC) and Arts/Humanities (HEC and other combinations). Both regular and private candidates will follow the same examination schedule.
Students have been advised to reach examination centres at least 30 minutes early, carry a valid hall ticket and college ID, and strictly adhere to instructions issued by the board. Media reports suggest that hall tickets may be issued via WhatsApp, a move aimed at improving transparency and parental involvement.
For hall ticket access, 1st year students will need their SSC roll number and date of birth, while 2nd year students must use their first-year hall ticket number and date of birth. The detailed subject-wise timetable is available in PDF format on the official website tgbie.cgg.gov.in, and students have been advised to check the portal regularly for updates and notifications.
