Patna, Aug 18: Bihar Rural Development and Information and Public Relations Minister Shravan Kumar on Tuesday inaugurated a newly constructed seminar hall at Pannu Lal Singh College in Jatichak, Masaurhi, and said the state government was committed to strengthening educational infrastructure and creating better opportunities for students.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Kumar said the government was focused not only on academic education but also on supporting students preparing for sports, arts and competitive examinations.
“The state government is committed to a better future for students,” Kumar said, adding that “along with education, every possible support is being provided to students preparing for sports, arts, and competitive exams.”
He said providing quality education and better resources to students remained a priority for the government.
Patliputra University Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Upendra Prasad Singh praised the facilities available at the college, particularly its library, classrooms and campus infrastructure.
He said the facilities and academic environment at the self-financed institution were “commendable” and could serve as an example for other educational institutions.
The event also saw a demand for granting state college status to Pannu Lal Singh College. Governing Body Chairperson and Legislative Councilor Dr. Anamika Singh Patel highlighted the institution’s efforts towards providing quality education and promoting students’ overall development.
Former MLA Poonam Devi said there was “no government college in the Masaurhi assembly constituency” and urged the minister to grant state college status to Pannu Lal Singh College.
Meanwhile, Masaurhi MLA Arun Manjhi assured students and teachers that the damaged road leading to the college would be repaired. He said the move would ensure that “students and teachers would not face any problems in commuting” to and from the institution.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by teachers, students, parents, college officials and several dignitaries.
The event underscored the government’s stated focus on improving college infrastructure and expanding educational and extracurricular opportunities for students, particularly in areas outside major urban centres.
