Ranchi, May 17: State BJP president and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has criticized the state government for not releasing funds to important departments despite more than a month of the new financial year.
The BJP leader claimed that state government has not released amount for the home department, drinking water and sanitation department and Panchayati Raj departments.
Babulal Marandi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ on Saturday that monsoon will arrive in a few days, after which no civil work will be possible for two-three months. He termed that in such a situation, stopping the budget amount is like stopping the development work.
He said that the point of the Home Department is understandable because the DGP has not been appointed in the state yet.
“The Chief Minister is saving the budget amount by appointing a corrupt officer for his earnings and corruption,” Marandi alleged.
Babulal Marandi said that there is a serious water crisis in Jharkhand these days and there is severe heat. In such a situation, not releasing the budget to the drinking water department is injustice to the public.
He also targeted the Panchayati Raj Department and said that many works are incomplete in rural areas, payment of laborers is pending, but the departmental minister and officers are wasting crores of rupees by organizing seminars in five star hotels.
Babulal Marandi has termed this entire situation as the failure and negligence of the government and has appealed to the public to be aware against it.
