Guwahati/Jamshedpur, April 24 : Jamshedpur FC U-17 will kick off their AIFF U-17 Elite Youth League Playoff campaign against Mumbai City FC U-17 on April 25 at 4:30 PM in Guwahati. The match will be a crucial encounter, with only one team securing a place in the final stage of the competition from the playoff stage groups.
Jamshedpur FC U-17 enters the playoff after a commendable performance in the group stage, finishing second, just one point behind AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy. The team started strong, winning all five of their opening matches. However, their squad faced challenges when key players were called up to the Reliance Foundation Zonal Group Championship in Shillong, forcing the team to play with a depleted lineup. Despite this, Jamshedpur FC managed to secure second place in the competitive group, losing only two out of the 10 matches they played.
Mumbai City FC U-17 also had a strong showing in their group, finishing runners-up, two points behind the Reliance Foundation Young Champs. Mumbai lost one match and drew another in their 10-match campaign.
Ahead of the playoff, Jamshedpur FC U-17 head coach Kaizad Ambapardiwalla expressed confidence in his team’s preparations.
