Jamshedpur, Oct 26: The principal of Loyola School has condemned a series of firebomb attacks by unidentified youths on the school campus, urging police to take firm action against those responsible for disturbing the peace during the Diwali season.
In a message addressed to the City Superintendent of Police and shared with media, Fr Vinod Vincent Fernandes, the principal, said that a group of miscreants had thrown firebombs into the school premises on October 21 and again on Friday evening, shattering windowpanes.
“It’s sad that a group of miscreants are disturbing schools by throwing firebombs inside school campuses,” Fr Vinod said. “The video shared is an example of how courageously they are carrying out their evil acts. I request you to take strict action against such antisocial elements who destroy the spirit of the Diwali festival.”
Fr Vinod said that the City SP has assured firm action in response to the complaint. He also appealed to the media to help raise awareness among the public to prevent such acts and maintain peace in educational environments.
“I request the media to educate our people not to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of schools and our communities,” he said. “Your support will help the schools to educate our students in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.” Police said an investigation is underway to identify those involved in the incidents.
