New Delhi, Dec 23: An Audi Q8 e-tron rammed into multiple parked vehicles in south Delhi’s Okhla Industrial Area on Monday afternoon, leaving the driver injured, police said.

The incident took place around 12.41 pm, following which police received two PCR calls. During preliminary investigation, it was found that the car first struck three parked vehicles and, due to the impact, continued moving before crashing into the rear of a stationary truck and coming to a halt.

The driver was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was treated and later discharged. No pedestrians or occupants of the parked vehicles were injured, police said.

According to police, the car is owned by Vikas Narang, a resident of DLF Farms in Chattarpur. At the time of the incident, it was being driven by his driver, Babu Lal, also known as Babu Rai, a resident of Madhubani district in Bihar.

Police said the driver claimed he lost control of the vehicle due to brake failure and deliberately steered it towards the parked cars to avoid vehicles and pedestrians on the main road.

A case has been registered against the driver for rash driving. His blood sample has been collected to ascertain whether he was under the influence of alcohol, and police are also probing the possibility of a mechanical failure in the car.
