Ranchi, Oct 22: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) General Secretary Vinod Pandey on Thursday hit back at the BJP over its criticism of the Mukhyamantri Sarathi Yojana, asking the party to first explain the Centre’s promise of providing two crore jobs annually.
Pandey said the BJP should question the central government over its employment commitments instead of targeting the Jharkhand government. He pointed out that youth across the country continue to raise concerns over unemployment, recruitment delays and vacant government posts.
He said the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government was working to connect young people with skill development, employment and self-employment opportunities through initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Sarathi Yojana. The scheme aims to make youth self-reliant by providing employment-oriented training, he added.
Questioning the BJP’s criticism, Pandey asked the Centre to disclose how many young people had secured permanent employment and what progress had been made towards fulfilling its annual job creation promise.
The JMM leader also accused the BJP-led central government of treating Jharkhand unfairly, alleging that delays in the release of central funds were affecting the implementation of public welfare schemes in the state. He said timely fund allocation was essential to ensure that schemes benefiting the poor, needy and general public continued without disruption.
Pandey maintained that financial discrimination against Jharkhand could adversely affect the state’s development and public welfare initiatives. He urged the BJP to highlight the Centre’s achievements in addressing unemployment, filling vacant government posts and generating new employment opportunities before questioning the state government’s initiatives.
The JMM general secretary said the Jharkhand government remained committed to expanding opportunities for the state’s youth and implementing welfare schemes. He challenged the BJP to substantiate its allegations against the Sarathi Yojana with facts while accepting accountability for employment-related commitments and the Centre’s financial obligations to Jharkhand.
