Ramgarh, Oct 15: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to six-year-old Anup Besra for his ear treatment after the necessary procedures under the Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Upchar Yojana were completed within 48 hours.
Anup, son of Ramkishun Besra, a resident of Bharech Nagar, Beratand in Ramgarh district, is undergoing treatment at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. Doctors have recommended replacing his internal ear organ, but the high cost of the treatment had posed financial difficulties for his family.
Recently, Anup’s father met Chief Minister Hemant Soren and sought financial assistance for his son’s treatment. Taking cognisance of the request, the Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to complete the necessary formalities for providing assistance under the scheme.
The Ramgarh district administration promptly completed the required procedures, following which the Chief Minister handed over the cheque to Anup Besra in Nemra on Thursday.
Anup’s father, Ramkishun Besra, said the financial assistance would provide significant support for his son’s treatment.
Meanwhile, Soren, who is staying at his ancestral village of Nemra for the Shraddha rituals of his late mother, Roopi Soren, continued to meet people arriving with their grievances. A large number of people have been visiting the village to pay their respects to his late mother, while others have been approaching him with their problems.
The Chief Minister met the visitors individually, listened to their concerns, accepted their applications and directed the concerned officials to take necessary steps to resolve their issues.
