Ranchi, Aug 21: The All India Students’ Association (AISA) and the Revolutionary Youth Association (RYA) will organise a Student-Youth Parliament in Dhanbad on August 24, with alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, unemployment and education among the key issues to be discussed.AISA state secretary Triloki Nath said the event would bring together students, young people and activists associated with recent movements in Delhi, Bihar and Jharkhand.
The organisers said participants would discuss alleged paper leaks, examination-related irregularities, corruption, employment and education, besides deliberating on the future course of student and youth movements.Nath said the programme would also take up issues specific to Jharkhand, including scholarships, the demand for changes in the cluster system, delays in academic sessions and student union elections.
The announcement comes amid an ongoing controversy over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).RYA general secretary Neeraj Kumar said students and job aspirants had been raising concerns over alleged malpractice in recruitment examinations for a considerable period.
He said the state government’s decision to cancel several examinations had subsequently faced legal challenges, with the Jharkhand High Court granting interim relief in some cases.Kumar demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into examinations that remain under suspicion after the CID investigation. He said those found guilty of securing appointments through proven malpractice should face action in accordance with law.
The organisations claimed that more than 50 cases were under suspicion, though such allegations would need to be established through investigation and due legal process. The Dhanbad event is expected to serve as a platform for students and youth to discuss examination reforms, employment opportunities, education-related concerns and the future course of their campaign.
