WASHINGTON, Feb 28 – Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk on Friday called U.S. Vice President JD Vance a “future president,” signaling growing support for the former senator as he serves under President Donald Trump.
“Best VP ever and our future President,” Musk posted on his social media platform X, echoing similar remarks he made last week. Musk, the world’s richest person and a key donor to Trump’s 2024 campaign, has played an increasingly influential role in the new administration.
Since Trump took office last month, Musk has been tasked with leading the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), overseeing government spending cuts and restructuring federal agencies. While officially designated as a “special government employee” and “senior adviser to the president,” Musk has been a more frequent presence at Trump’s side in recent weeks than Vance.
Vance, 39, is the third-youngest vice president in U.S. history and previously served a single term as a senator from Ohio. A best-selling author, he was once a vocal critic of Trump, describing him as a “moral disaster” and likening his rise to Adolf Hitler’s. However, Vance later embraced the former president’s platform and secured Trump’s endorsement in his successful 2022 Senate bid.
Meanwhile, Amazon has announced a new AI-powered version of its Alexa virtual assistant, which the company says will serve as a “best friend in a digital world” for a monthly subscription fee. The move signals Amazon’s push to further integrate artificial intelligence into everyday consumer interactions. Neither the White House nor Musk’s representatives immediately responded to requests for comment.
