Ranchi, July 17: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at six locations in Ranchi and Lohardaga in connection with the June 16 petrol bomb attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Ranchi.

The searches were carried out as part of the agency’s ongoing investigation to gather evidence and identify all those involved in the incident.

NIA teams searched the rented residence of accused Sayam Sujan in Ranchi’s Pathalkudwa area and conducted searches at five houses in Lohardaga during the early hours of the morning.

Officials also raided the residence of accused Aman Ansari in New Azad Basti, Qureshi Mohalla, where the house was found locked.

Security personnel used a hydraulic bucket lift to access the upper floor before carrying out the search.

During the operation, investigators examined and seized mobile phones, digital devices, documents, and other materials belonging to the accused.

The agency is analysing the recovered evidence to determine whether it is linked to the planning and execution of the attack.

The NIA also searched the residence of Aman Ansari’s lawyer and questioned him as part of the investigation. According to officials, the raids have yielded significant information and scientific evidence that could help strengthen the case.

The petrol bomb attack occurred at around 12:36 a.m. on June 16, when unidentified persons targeted the RSS office in Ranchi.

An FIR was registered at Chutia Police Station on June 17, and the NIA formally took over the investigation on June 20 due to the seriousness of the case.

The investigation is being supervised by NIA Superintendent of Police Amarendra Kumar Tiwari.

The agency has already interrogated the three main accused—Aman Ansari, Saif Ansari, and Sayam Sujan—while they were in custody.

Officials said the investigation is continuing to establish the full conspiracy behind the attack, identify any additional suspects, and determine whether a larger network was involved.

The NIA is expected to analyse the seized electronic devices and documents for further leads.
