Goh (Aurangabad), Sep 1: Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government, targeting them over inflation, unemployment and the law-and-order situation.
Addressing a gathering during a Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebration in Goh, Tejashwi questioned the Bihar government’s claims of controlling crime and alleged that Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary faces a murder case.
“When a murder case is registered against the Chief Minister, then how will he make Bihar crime-free?” he asked, while questioning the government’s handling of law and order and police action.
Tejashwi also raised allegations of fake encounters and demanded that the government answer questions being raised by the public over the law-and-order situation in the state.
Turning his attack towards the Centre, the RJD leader took a swipe at Modi over inflation, saying, “Modi ji used to consider inflation a witch, but now it’s his sister-in-law.”
He also accused the government of failing to address unemployment among Bihar’s youth, alleging that they have faced paper leaks, scams and lathicharge while raising demands for jobs.
“Instead of providing employment to the youth, injustice is being done to them,” Tejashwi said.
He further raised concerns over Bihar’s economic condition, claiming that the average person in the state carries a debt of around Rs 27,000. He urged the government to focus on employment, education and development.
Earlier, Tejashwi participated in the Janmashtami celebrations, worshipped Lord Krishna and inaugurated the festival by lighting a ceremonial lamp amid Vedic chants.
“I have come to seek Krishna’s blessings and the support of the people,” he said, thanking the organisers and local residents for holding the festival.
Tejashwi was welcomed in Goh by RJD MLA Amarendra Kushwaha and party workers. Several party leaders and public representatives, including Ajay Kushwaha, MP Surendra Yadav and former minister Kanti Singh, were present at the event.
