Ranchi, July 17: The Jharkhand Pradesh Youth Congress on Thursday organised a protest against the Central Government’s ethanol policy after holding its State Executive Committee meeting at Congress Bhavan in Ranchi.

The meeting focused on strengthening the party’s organisational structure, expanding its membership drive, and discussing issues affecting the public.

The meeting was chaired by State Working President Kuldeep Kumar Ravi, who urged party workers to reinforce the organisation at the booth level and actively connect more young people with the Congress ideology.

Discussions also covered upcoming organisational programmes, public concerns, and the prevailing political situation in Jharkhand.

Following the meeting, Youth Congress workers took out a rally from Congress Bhavan to Firayalal Chowk, where they staged a demonstration against the Centre’s ethanol policy and petroleum-related issues.

Protesters raised slogans against the Central Government and burned an effigy of Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, alleging that the government’s policies were against the interests of the common people.

Addressing party workers, Ravi said the Youth Congress would continue to raise its voice on issues concerning farmers, youth, students, and ordinary citizens.

He asserted that the organisation would intensify its campaigns on matters of public interest and continue opposing policies it considers detrimental to the welfare of the people.

Several senior Congress leaders attended the meeting, including MLA Kalicharan Munda, State Vice-President Raju Kachhap, Youth Congress National General Secretary and Jharkhand In-charge Shravan Yadav, Co-Incharges Priti Manjhi and Murari Kumar, Ranchi Metropolitan President Kumar Raja, former National Secretary Rajesh Sinha, and other party office-bearers.

The meeting concluded with a call to strengthen the party’s grassroots network, accelerate the membership campaign, and maintain active engagement with public issues across the state.
