New Delhi, Jan 2 : A short vacation video of Sara Tendulkar from Goa has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread debate and renewed discussion on the scrutiny faced by children of public figures.
The clip shows Sara walking along a Goan street with friends, holding a bottle that some social media users speculated to be beer. The video, shared widely across platforms, drew mixed reactions, with a section of users criticising her, while many others came out strongly in her defence.
Several netizens questioned why a casual holiday moment had turned into a talking point, attributing the attention largely to the fact that she is the daughter of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Some comments went further, dragging Sachin Tendulkar into the discussion, which in turn prompted sharp backlash from other users.
Supporters pointed out that there was no confirmation about what the bottle contained or even when the video was recorded, calling the criticism unfair, intrusive and unnecessary. Many stressed that Sara is an adult and entitled to her private life.
“What kind of brainless thinking is this? How can Sara drinking beer equate to Tendulkar promoting alcohol? And can’t a daughter drink?” one user wrote. Another commented that there was “nothing worth trolling here,” adding that the clip simply showed a young woman enjoying time off with friends.
The episode has once again highlighted the constant public scrutiny faced by celebrity children and the growing pushback against social media trolling. Several users remarked that if Sara were not related to a cricket icon, the video would likely have gone unnoticed.
Beyond her association with cricket, Sara Tendulkar has carved out her own professional identity. She is a trained nutritionist with a master’s degree from London, is associated with the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, and works actively in the wellness and fitness space. In August 2025, she launched Pilates Academy X Sara Tendulkar, a Pilates studio in Andheri, Mumbai.
As the online debate continues, many users have reiterated that being a public figure by association does not mean forfeiting the right to privacy, calling for greater sensitivity and restraint on social media platforms.
