Rajkot, Jan 2 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the second Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for the Kutch and Saurashtra region on January 11 in Rajkot, the Gujarat government said on Thursday.
The two-day conference, scheduled for January 11 and 12, will be held at the Marwadi University premises in Rajkot and will focus on showcasing the region’s emerging economic, industrial and cultural opportunities, State Agriculture Minister and government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani said.
More than 6,000 participants have already registered for the event, with delegates and business leaders from 21 countries expected to take part. “PM Modi will be in Rajkot on January 11 to inaugurate the 2nd Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for the Kutch and Saurashtra region,” Vaghani said.
The conference will aim to highlight the strengths of the Kutch–Saurashtra belt, attract new investments, and help local products access global markets, he said. The entire conference and exhibition will be spread across 26,400 square metres.
A range of activities, including business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings, an exhibition, sector-specific seminars, and reverse buyer-seller meets, will be organised during the two-day event.
The first Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, focusing on north Gujarat, was held in October 2025. The state government plans to organise four VGRCs across different regions of Gujarat ahead of the 11th Vibrant Gujarat Summit, scheduled to be held in 2027. The last edition of the summit took place in 2024.
Vaghani added that similar regional conferences for south Gujarat and central Gujarat will be organised later this year as part of the state’s broader strategy to boost regional development and investment outreach.
