Jamshedpur, December 16: XLRI Jamshedpur on Saturday hosted Ingenium 6.0, its flagship startup conclave, bringing together founders, industry leaders and students to examine how purpose-driven enterprises can build resilience and scale sustainably amid rapid technological and market change.

Organised by the PGDM General Management batch of 2025–26, the conclave focused on how founders can balance adaptability with long-term vision as businesses navigate demographic shifts, digital disruption and transitions such as the automotive sector’s move from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles.

The event opened with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony attended by Prof. Sanjay Patro, Prof. Sunil Sarangi and Prof. Purna Chandra Padhan, along with the conclave’s speakers. In their inaugural addresses, Prof. Patro and Prof. Padhan said the definition of “enduring businesses” is evolving, but stressed that a deep understanding of customer needs and a clear sense of purpose remain critical for long-term success.

The first panel discussion, “The Art of Strategic Resilience – Balancing Vision and Viability,” featured founders and industry professionals from Travelwings.com, AlgoShack, Terra X, Tracknerd Inc. and BDO Executive Search. Panellists said that while strategies, products and technologies must evolve, a founder’s core vision and values should remain constant, highlighting the role of early teams, aligned investors and close engagement with customers.

Discussions during the session ranged from the adoption of generative artificial intelligence and SaaS scalability to sustainability-led innovation and data-driven logistics intelligence.

The second panel, “The Founder’s Dilemma – Scaling with Soul,” brought together leaders from TapFin, Tummoc, TalentRecruit and Acviss Technologies. Speakers focused on the human side of growth, underlining the importance of mindful hiring, cultural alignment and the discipline to reject opportunities that dilute a company’s purpose.

Panellists also shared candid views on bootstrapping versus external funding, building trust-led products and ensuring that rapid growth does not come at the cost of values, ethics or long-term impact.

The conclave concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Sunil Sarangi, who acknowledged the speakers, moderators, participants and student organisers. Speakers were presented with mementoes in recognition of their contributions, while the proceedings were anchored by Yukta Tiwari and Nikhil Jain.

Ingenium 6.0 reaffirmed XLRI Jamshedpur’s focus on fostering responsible leadership, entrepreneurial thinking and purpose-driven innovation, as the institute seeks to prepare future leaders to build not only successful companies but also resilient and meaningful institutions.
