New Delhi, Aug 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met the Bharatiya Janata Party’s newly appointed national office-bearers at the party headquarters in the national capital, in the first organisational interaction involving the new team since its formation.
Earlier in the day, BJP national president Nabin held a meeting with the newly appointed office-bearers and urged them to strengthen engagement with young people through a programme described as “Yuva Samvad”.Party sources said the BJP is preparing a series of youth-focused outreach activities and is considering a structured campaign aimed at people aged 14 years and above.
As part of the initiative, the party is expected to constitute dedicated teams involving senior leaders from different parts of the country.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the BJP’s youth wing, will assist in forming and mobilising the teams.Former national office-bearers are also likely to be given responsibilities in the campaign, according to sources.
The proposed outreach is aimed at creating sustained interaction with young people and strengthening the party’s organisational presence among the younger generation.
Modi’s meeting with the new national team comes as the BJP begins implementing its organisational priorities under the newly appointed leadership.
