Ranchi, June 18: In view of the forecast of heavy rainfall, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate of Ranchi, Manjunath Bhajantri, has ordered closure of all schools across the district on June 19, Thursday. This order applies to all categories of schools operating in the district, including government, government-aided (including minority institutions), and private schools from KG to class 12.
The Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, has issued a special bulletin marking Ranchi district under the “Red Zone” for June 19 due to the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall. Considering this forecast and prioritizing the safety of school children, the district administration has issued this precautionary directive.
Any violation of this order will make the concerned educational institution liable for action under the relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The Deputy Commissioner has directed all Block Education Extension Officers, Assistant School Inspectors, Zonal Education Officers, Headmasters-cum-Withdrawal and Expenditure Officers, Principals/Headmasters/In-charge Headmasters of all categories of schools (including minority-run, aided, and unaided institutions), and related staff to ensure strict compliance with the order.
