Jamshedpur, May 4: Loyola School in Jamshedpur marked its Bagless Day on Saturday with a blend of industrial visits and campus-based club activities aimed at encouraging experiential and student-led learning.

The initiative, aligned with the school’s emphasis on holistic education, offered students hands-on exposure across various sectors. Educational visits included trips to industrial and commercial hubs such as RSB Transmission, Bebbco Motors, De’Hamray Hotel, Lemon Tree Hotels, Utkal Auto, and Uditvani. These excursions provided students with practical insights into fields ranging from manufacturing and hospitality to media.

Within the school premises, student clubs led a series of interactive and thematic events. The Tarumitra Club launched “Terra Scope,” an environmental contest promoting sustainable thinking. The Entrepreneur Club hosted “SharkSmart 2025,” where students pitched business ideas and engaged in debate, fostering entrepreneurial and communication skills.

The Robotics Club showcased “Aeroglide,” where student-built robots took part in a series of high-intensity technical challenges, highlighting participants’ programming proficiency and problem-solving skills, while the Maths Club conducted the Ramanujan Quiz for Grade 11 students to celebrate mathematical aptitude. The Art and Craft Club offered hands-on sessions encouraging creativity and self-expression.

Noted actor and Loyola alumnus Neeraj Kabi held a theatre workshop at the Centre for Excellence, attended by 62 aspiring young actors.
For younger students, the day included a “Mom’s Meet,” where mothers and teachers held informal discussions to enhance mutual understanding and support child development.

Loyola’s Bagless Saturday, part of its broader pedagogical vision, highlights a shift from rote learning to real-world education. The initiative reflects the institution’s focus on curiosity, critical thinking, and well-rounded student development.
