FJCCI to hold 2026-27 elections in Ranchi on September 13

Ranchi, September 5: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) will conduct its election for the 2026-27 session on September 13 at Marwari Bhawan on Harmu Road in Ranchi, the election committee announced on Saturday.

Voting will be held from 9 am to 5 pm for the selection of 21 members of the Executive Committee and regional vice-presidents as part of the federation’s election process.

Election Committee Co-Chairman Pawan Sharma said 4,214 voters are expected to exercise their franchise. He said the federation currently has 81 affiliated organisations.Only members who have cleared their membership dues for the 2026-27 financial year will be eligible to participate in the election.

A help desk will be established at the polling venue to assist members with payment of outstanding membership fees.The committee said several measures have been introduced to streamline the voting process.

Voters will receive their computer-generated voter and counter numbers through SMS ahead of polling day, enabling them to locate their designated counters more easily.The polling area will have 40 computers.

The voting software will be configured to ensure that each voter selects exactly 21 candidates. Candidate photographs will also appear alongside their names on the computer screens to assist voters with identification.

Members will be provided food coupons along with their voting slips and will be able to avail themselves of meals at Digambar Jain Bhawan after casting their votes.Election Committee Chairman Anchal Kinger said the FJCCI represents traders, entrepreneurs and professionals across Jharkhand and claimed that around 10 lakh members of the business community are connected with the federation directly or indirectly.

He said the committee was committed to conducting the election in a fair, transparent and cordial environment.The federation’s 62nd Annual General Meeting is scheduled to be held at the Chamber Bhawan on September 12, a day before the election.

The election committee has also appealed to members to use two-wheelers or public transport as far as possible on polling day to help minimise traffic congestion around the venue.Election Committee member Lalit Kedia also briefed the media about the arrangements.

FJCCI president Aditya Malhotra was present at the press conference.
