Ranchi, May 8: Like militants, now reward has been announced for the arrest of criminals in Jharkhand. This proposal was approved in the cabinet meeting held on Thursday under the Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
After the meeting ended, Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said that apart from militants, now reward has also been announced for the arrest of criminals. The Cabinet Secretary said that rewards ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 30 lakh will be given on the arrest of criminals.
Dadel said that rewards have been announced in five categories based on the number of cases registered against criminals. A maximum reward of Rs 20-30 lakh has been announced on a criminal with more than 20 cases registered. At the same time, a reward of Rs 2 lakh will be given on a criminal with 3 cases registered. Similarly, rewards will be announced on other criminals as well.
In this cabinet meeting held in Jharkhand ministry, approval was given to increase the dearness allowance of state employees by two percentage points. Along with this, the dearness allowance of pensioners has also been increased by 2 percentage points.
The dearness allowance of state government employees is raised to 55 per cent of basic pay from the existing 53 per cent, effective from January 1 this year, an official said. The dearness relief to pensioners was also increased by 2 percentage points to 55 per cent. The move will benefit over 3 lakh employees and pensioners in the state.
In all 34 proposals were approved in the Jharkhand cabinet meeting including approving the Mukhya Mantri Digital Health Yojana.
“To implement the Mukhya Mantri Digital Health Yojana in all medical colleges, district hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, community health centres, primary health centres and health sub-centres during next five years, the government approved Rs 299.30 crore,” cabinet secretary Dadel said.
The cabinet also decided to rename Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University in Ranchi as Veer Shaheed Budhu Bhagat University.
The Cabinet also approved the notification of the Jharkhand Sand Mining Rules, 2025. Under the new rules, the auction of sand ghats can now be conducted at the district level. Previously, the authority rested with the Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation (JSMDC).
