Garhwa, July 11: Garhwa district has achieved 92.63 per cent distribution of enumeration forms under the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, with the district administration directing officials to complete all pending work by July 29 to facilitate publication of the final voter list on August 5.

According to the district administration, 7,98,580 enumeration forms have been distributed door-to-door by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), while the downloading and printing of all 957 Electoral Photo (EP) parts for the district’s two Assembly constituencies has been completed.

Officials said 2,28,567 received forms have been digitised, of which 440 have been uploaded to the online portal, while 2,28,127 forms have been physically verified by BLOs. Under the voter mapping exercise, 94,905 forms have been mapped, 1,29,020 progeny mappings have been completed, and only 4,202 forms remain pending.

In the 80-Garhwa Assembly constituency, which has 4,26,661 registered voters, 3,78,893 forms have been distributed. So far, 1,06,231 forms have been digitised, 255 uploaded online and 1,05,976 verified by BLOs.

Similarly, in the 81-Bhawanathpur Assembly constituency, comprising 4,35,431 voters, 4,19,687 forms have been distributed. Officials have digitised 1,22,336 forms, uploaded 185 online and verified 1,22,151 forms.

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Pashupati Nath Mishra reviewed the progress of the campaign through a video conference with Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, District Education Officer, District Education Superintendent, District Social Welfare Officer, Booth Level Officers, supervisors and other officials.

Describing the exercise as a critical democratic process, Mishra said, “The Special Intensive Revision Campaign is a crucial and time-bound process of the Election Commission of India.” He cautioned officials against complacency, stating, “Negligence, indifference or laxity at any level will not be acceptable,” and warned that “strict punitive action will be taken against the concerned personnel if negligence is found.”

The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure 100 per cent completion of all SIR-related activities by July 29, 2026, enabling the Election Commission to publish the final electoral roll on August 5, 2026, as scheduled.

“All campaign-related work must be completed by July 29, 2026, so that the final voter list can be published on time on August 5, 2026,” Mishra said, urging every official to discharge their responsibilities with complete devotion, honesty and accountability.

Appealing to voters to actively participate in the revision exercise, he said, “Only with the active participation of the public can an accurate, transparent and reliable voter list be created, further strengthening democracy.”

The district administration has urged voters to cooperate with Booth Level Officers during door-to-door verification, submit the required documents on time, carefully fill the enumeration forms with accurate information and ensure that their electoral details are verified before the revision process concludes.
