Ranchi, June 27: Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed deep regret over his absence from the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, citing the ill health of Dishom Guruji as the reason for missing the revered event. Taking to social media, Soren extended heartfelt prayers to Lord Jagannath, seeking speedy recovery for Guruji, who holds a revered position in the tribal and spiritual community of Jharkhand.
“Every year, I make it a point to be present at this sacred and historic festival. However, this year, due to the ill health of Dishom Guruji, I could not participate,” Soren posted. He prayed for Guruji’s swift return to good health and hoped that his blessings continue to guide everyone as always.
The Chief Minister’s message resonated with thousands across the state, especially among followers of tribal traditions, many of whom revere Guruji as a spiritual leader and guardian of indigenous culture.
The Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is one of the most celebrated religious festivals across India, especially in eastern states like Odisha and Jharkhand. The absence of the Chief Minister was notable, as he has traditionally participated in the celebrations, which blend devotion with deep-rooted cultural heritage.
Soren concluded his message with a traditional greeting, “Johar,” and invoked Lord Jagannath’s blessings for the welfare of all.
