3 killed, 2 critically injured in horrific road accident in Lohardaga

Lohardaga, October 9: Three young men were killed and two others critically injured in a tragic road accident on National Highway 143 AG near Kundo Maidan under the Bhandara police station area of Lohardaga district on late Wednesday evening.

As per the police, the accident occurred when the two motorcycles, coming from opposite direction, collided head-on. The impact was so severe that both bikes were completely damaged, and all five riders were thrown onto the road. 

While three of them died on the spot, the remaining two sustained serious injuries.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and sent the bodies for post-mortem. On the other hand, the injured were rushed to Bhandara Community Health Center and were later referred to RIMS Ranchi for advanced treatment.

The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old Mizan Ansari, son of Kalam Ansari, a resident of Rahat Nagar in Lohardaga; 25-year-old Prakash Oraon, son of Fagua Oraon from Pandariya village; and 27-year-old Mukesh Oraon, son of the late Lalu Oraon from the same village. 

Meanwhile, the injured have been identified as Irfan Ansari (25), son of Abul Ansari from Jori, and Govinda Oraon, son of Fatlu Oraon from Pandariya village.

Police sources said Mizan Ansari was returning to Lohardaga from Ranchi with his friend after receiving treatment for typhoid when their bike collided with another coming from the opposite direction.

Bhandara Police Station in-charge Ravi Ranjan Kumar confirmed that all victims were rescued and taken to the hospital immediately. Lohardaga DSP Sudhir Prasad Sahu said that an investigation into the incident has begun.
