Shimla/Mandi, Mar 12: A minor domestic dispute turned violent in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district after a woman allegedly threw boiling milk on her husband during an argument over mobile phone use, leaving him with burn injuries, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place in Jamnol village, where the couple reportedly got into a heated argument after the husband objected to his wife using her mobile phone for a long time.
According to police, the woman, identified as Neena, allegedly lost her temper during the argument and threw boiling milk from the kitchen onto her husband, Dharampal.
“A minor argument between a couple turned ugly after the woman threw boiling milk on her husband’s face when he asked her not to use her mobile phone,” a police official said.
Dharampal sustained burn injuries on his face, chest and stomach, estimated to be around 15 per cent. Hearing his screams, family members rushed to the spot and immediately took him to Baldwara Civil Hospital for treatment.
“Doctors provided first aid and declared his condition stable, after which he was discharged from the hospital,” officials said.
Following the incident, Dharampal lodged a complaint with police, based on which a case was registered against his wife at Hatli Police Station under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rash or negligent acts endangering human life or personal safety.
“Based on the injured husband’s complaint, a case has been registered against the wife and further investigation is underway,” police said.
