Nuh (Haryana), Dec 16: Two people were killed and more than a dozen others injured in a series of road accidents triggered by dense fog on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and other roads in Haryana’s Nuh district on Monday, police said.

The most serious accident occurred near Raniyala Patakpur village, where poor visibility led to a massive pile-up involving 10 to 12 vehicles, they said.

The deceased were identified as CISF Inspector Harish Kumar, a resident of Alwar, and Khalil, a resident of Jaipur. Several injured persons were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and launched rescue and relief operations, removing damaged vehicles from the carriageway. Traffic movement on the expressway was disrupted for some time but was later restored, officials said.

In another incident, a pile-up involving seven to eight vehicles was reported near Banarsi village, close to pillar number 45 on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway. No casualties were reported in the accident, though several vehicles sustained damage.

Separately, a roadways bus collided with a tractor near Ghaseda village on the Delhi–Alwar road. No injuries were reported in that incident either, police said.

Dense fog enveloped the district since early morning, severely reducing visibility and leading to multiple accidents at different locations. Authorities have advised motorists to drive cautiously, maintain safe speeds and strictly follow traffic rules during foggy conditions, they added.
