Patna, Dec 30: The Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC) has issued a stern warning to all District Education Officers (DEOs) and District Project Officers (DPOs) to complete the entry of U-DISE 2025-26 data for students and teachers by December 31, or face disciplinary action.

State Project Director Naveen Kumar, in an official letter to all districts, pointed out significant discrepancies in data entry. The review revealed that nearly five lakh students’ records from the previous academic year have not been uploaded, potentially preventing them from receiving benefits under central and state government education schemes.

According to BEPC, the gap between the U-DISE data for 2024-25 and 2025-26 stands at 5.93 lakh students, with only 1.64 crore of the 1.70 crore students enrolled in government schools last year being recorded in the current year’s database. This shortfall may directly affect the allocation of government funds for these students.

The council also highlighted a decline in district-level data regarding infrastructure facilities, including toilets, drinking water, ramps, boundary walls, and ICT labs, as well as incomplete records for children with disabilities.

BEPC emphasized that DEOs and DPOs would be held fully responsible if any student is deprived of scheme benefits due to incomplete data entry. Officers have been instructed to ensure full verification and uploading of all school and student records to avoid disruptions in government funding.

This warning is being seen as a major step to enhance the quality of education and equitable resource distribution in Bihar. District authorities have been urged to exercise maximum vigilance and comply with the deadline of December 31 to avoid strict disciplinary action.
