New Delhi, October 8: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been allotted a government bungalow in the capital’s Lodhi Estate area, party sources said on Tuesday, days after the Delhi High Court criticised the federal government for delays in providing him accommodation.
AAP has not officially confirmed the allotment, which comes after a series of court hearings over the past weeks. The High Court had expressed concern over the Centre’s inaction and lack of clarity regarding Kejriwal’s housing entitlement following his resignation as chief minister last year.
On Sept. 25, the federal government told the court that “appropriate” residential accommodation would be provided to Kejriwal within 10 days.
Kejriwal vacated his official residence at 6, Flagstaff Road in north Delhi’s Civil Lines area in October 2024, after stepping down as chief minister.
The AAP leader, who faces multiple legal cases, has maintained a low public profile since his resignation but continues to head the party.
