Ranchi, Aug 17: The Jharkhand government on Monday announced the cancellation of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC-CGL) examination and decided to scrap the entire recruitment process associated with TDPL, the agency involved in conducting the examination.
The decision was announced by Chief Minister Hemant Soren following talks between the state government and representatives of protesting students, who have been demonstrating against alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and JSSC.Under the decision, examinations conducted by TDPL, results announced through the agency, selection lists and other activities linked to its recruitment-related work will also be cancelled, according to the government.
The move comes after weeks of student protests demanding transparency and action over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. The protesters had also sought a comprehensive review of examinations conducted through the private agency.

Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who had been on a hunger strike for 16 days, said he would end his fast following the government’s decision but maintained that the broader agitation would continue.The government had earlier ordered an inquiry into examinations conducted through TDPL. Monday’s announcement goes a step further by terminating the process associated with the agency and cancelling the affected examination-related proceedings.
The cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination is being viewed as a significant development in the ongoing dispute between the state government and aspirants.
