Patna, July 25: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Saturday praised the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, describing it as an inspiring example of morality, accountability and ethical public life amid the controversy surrounding the NEET paper leak.
In a post on X, Chaudhary hailed Pradhan as a visionary leader who gave a new direction, new thinking and fresh momentum to India’s education system during his tenure as Union Education Minister.
“Dharmendra Pradhan’s decision to resign is an inspiring example of morality, ethics, accountability and selfless service in public life,” the Chief Minister said.
Chaudhary credited Pradhan with the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, stating that the reform had laid a strong foundation for the bright future of millions of students across the country.
“As Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan gave a new direction, new thinking and new momentum to India’s education system. The effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 under his leadership laid a strong foundation for the bright future of millions of students,” he said.
The Chief Minister said Pradhan’s decision to step down while placing national interest above personal office reflected a high standard of ethics and public accountability.
Extending his best wishes to the former Union minister, Chaudhary said, “I wish that your journey of experience, leadership and service to the nation continues to reach new heights.”
Separately, marking 100 days of his tenure, the Bihar Chief Minister said the state had made significant progress on the development front through “service, resolve and dedication.”
Speaking at a programme held at the BIT Mesra Patna campus, Chaudhary said foundation stones were laid and projects inaugurated for 2,476 development schemes worth ₹11,464 crore, reaffirming the government’s commitment to accelerating public welfare and infrastructure development across Bihar.
“In 100 days of service, resolve and dedication, Bihar has moved towards new heights of development,” the Chief Minister said.
