Bengaluru, July 23: IT services major Infosys on Thursday reported a strong rise in its financial performance for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, posting double-digit growth in both profit and revenue while announcing a planned leadership transition.

The company said its consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter increased by 12.2 per cent year-on-year to ₹7,769 crore.

Revenue from operations also rose by 14 per cent to ₹48,211 crore, supported by steady business demand across its global operations.

Along with the quarterly results, Infosys revised its revenue growth guidance for the current financial year.

The company narrowed its forecast to 1.5–3 per cent, compared with its earlier projection of 1.5–3.5 per cent, citing a cautious outlook for the global business environment.

In a major management announcement, the Infosys Board named Ashish Kumar Das as the company’s next Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

He will assume office on April 1, 2027, after the completion of the current tenure of CEO Salil Parekh.

The company said Das has been associated with Infosys for more than three decades and currently leads its engineering services business.

During his career, he has held several senior leadership roles and managed multiple industry-focused global business portfolios.

Infosys said the planned leadership transition is aimed at ensuring continuity in the company’s long-term growth strategy while strengthening its position in digital transformation, engineering, cloud and artificial intelligence services.
