Patna, Mar 20: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Thursday clarified that the Class 10 (Matric) examination results for 2026 will not be announced on March 20, dismissing widespread speculation circulating on social media.
A board spokesperson said that “the Class 10 (Matric) result for 2026 will not be announced on March 20” and added that no official date has been finalised yet. Students have been advised to rely only on updates issued through the board’s official channels and not to trust unverified reports, which officials termed as “misleading.”
The clarification comes amid rumours suggesting an imminent result declaration, leaving lakhs of students anxious. The board said the evaluation of answer sheets is currently in its final stages, following which data compilation and verification will be carried out before announcing the results.
Officials emphasised that multiple levels of checking are required to ensure accuracy and transparency. “The result date will be announced only after all necessary processes are completed,” the board said, urging students to remain patient and avoid panic due to misinformation.
While no official timeline has been confirmed, past trends indicate that the results are likely to be declared by the end of March. Last year, the BSEB announced the Class 10 results on March 29.
The board reiterated that ensuring error-free results remains its top priority.
