Prague, May 4 – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday that a ceasefire in Ukraine’s war with Russia could be achieved “at any moment,” signalling potential openness to negotiations in the more than three-year-old conflict.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Prague alongside Czech President Petr Pavel, Zelenskiy did not elaborate on any ongoing talks but said the possibility of ending hostilities remains present. “A ceasefire with Russia is possible at any moment,” Zelenskiy told reporters, without providing further conditions or a timeline.
Zelenskiy also confirmed that Ukraine expects to receive 1.8 million artillery shells in 2025 under a Czech initiative aimed at bolstering Kyiv’s defense capabilities. The shell procurement is part of a broader effort by Ukraine’s European allies to maintain military support amid ongoing fighting across the eastern front.
The Czech Republic has led a push to source ammunition for Ukraine from global suppliers, as Kyiv continues to face delays in arms deliveries from some Western nations.
