New Delhi, Jan 8: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all its affiliated schools to actively use PM eVidya’s CBSE Channel 15 to support classroom teaching for students of Classes 9 to 11.

The directive was issued through a circular dated January 7, 2026, in which the Board emphasised the integration of digital content into regular classroom transactions to enhance learning outcomes.

CBSE has been allotted Channel 15 under the PM eVidya Direct-to-Home (DTH) platform. The channel currently hosts 67 curriculum-aligned educational videos covering core subjects such as Mathematics, Science and Social Science. In addition, the platform features pedagogical modules on experiential learning, storytelling, assessment practices, cyber safety, and teacher training, along with policy-focused content on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

“CBSE has advised affiliated schools to make active use of PM eVidya’s CBSE Channel 15 to enhance classroom learning and student outcomes,” the Board said in the circular.

While the primary beneficiaries are students of Classes 9 to 11, the initiative also aims to strengthen teacher capacity building and professional development. The content is designed to support self-paced learning, revision, enrichment and remedial instruction through repeated telecasts and on-demand access via CBSE TV on YouTube.

“The initiative aims to bridge learning gaps by ensuring uniform access to quality educational resources, regardless of region or socio-economic background,” CBSE noted.

According to the Board, all videos have been developed by subject experts and are aligned with the CBSE curriculum, NCERT textbooks and national broadcast standards. “The e-videos are curriculum-aligned, developed by subject experts, and adhere to national standards for educational television,” it said.

CBSE further stressed that schools must ensure the availability of the required infrastructure as prescribed under Circular Trg-30 dated June 11, 2024, for the effective use of the channel.

“Repeated telecasts and online availability allow students to learn at their own pace and reinforce conceptual understanding beyond classroom hours,” the Board added, encouraging teachers to integrate these digital resources into lesson planning, classroom transactions and remediation programmes.

“The effective use of these digital tools can significantly improve teaching-learning outcomes across CBSE-affiliated schools,” CBSE said.

The Board has also invited experienced educators and academic resource persons to collaborate through its Centres of Excellence to contribute more high-quality e-content. “CBSE invites experienced educators and academic resource persons to collaborate in developing more high-quality educational content,” it said.

The initiative is part of CBSE’s broader objective to ensure inclusive, equitable and uniform access to quality education across regions and socio-economic backgrounds.
