Jamshedpur, Aug 25: A man was found dead in Jamshedpur’s Chayanagar area on Tuesday morning, with his family alleging that he was murdered, police said.
The deceased was identified as Chandan Giri, a resident of the area. Local residents spotted his body and informed the police, following which a team reached the spot.The body was subsequently sent to MGM Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
According to police, Giri had a criminal background and had recently been released from jail.His wife has alleged that he was murdered, pointing to a mark around his neck. Police, however, have not yet confirmed the cause or manner of his death.
Investigators have begun examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and are checking CCTV footage from the area for possible clues.
Police are also expected to gather other evidence and record statements as part of the investigation.The post-mortem report is likely to play an important role in determining the cause of death.
Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation and medical examination.At present, the circumstances leading to Giri’s death remain under investigation.
