Ayodhya, Dec 13: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will celebrate the second anniversary of the consecration (Pran Pratistha) of the Ram temple on December 31, 2025, coinciding with ‘Pratishtha Dwadashi’, the 12th day of the waxing phase of the lunar month of Pausha.

Flag hoisting ceremonies (Dharma Dhwaja) are planned on the spires of seven sub-temples – Shiva, Surya, Ganpati, Hanuman, Bhagwati, Annapurna and Sheshavatara – within the temple complex. Rituals for the celebration will begin on December 27, including the worship of the flags, and will be followed by multi-day events featuring recitation of path, mantras, and cultural programmes.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and possibly President Draupadi Murmu are expected to attend the main ceremony as chief guests. Sources said both Singh and Adityanath may jointly hoist the flags on all seven sub-temples.

The celebrations come a month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the flag on the main temple spire on November 25, marking the completion of the temple’s construction. Flag hoisting at the sub-temples had been postponed earlier due to pending work, but all seven sub-temples are now fully completed and decorated.

The Trust will finalise the framework for the celebrations in a meeting scheduled for December 13. Detailed rehearsals have been carried out to ensure safe and precise hoisting of the Dharma Dhwaja.

The Ram Mandir has witnessed three major events since the Bhoomi Pujan on August 5, 2020 – the first Pran Pratistha on January 22, 2024, for the installation of Ram Lalla, the second Pran Pratistha on June 5, 2025, for the installation of Ram Darbar, and the Dharma Dhwaja hoisting on the main temple in November 2025. The December 31 celebrations will mark the second anniversary of the temple’s consecration and the formal flag hoisting at all sub-temples.
