Ranchi, Mar 23 : The UPSC Recruitment Test (RTS) 2025 was conducted in Ranchi on Sunday under strict security arrangements, with authorities imposing prohibitory orders around examination centers to prevent disruptions.
The exam was held in two shifts – the first from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the second from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Government Girls +2 High School, Bariatu, Ranchi.
Officials said preparations were made to ensure a malpractice-free environment. “A Magistrate, along with police forces, has been deployed to maintain law and order,” said the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Ranchi, and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi.
Authorities anticipated that students, parents, or anti-social elements might attempt to gather near examination centers and disrupt proceedings. In response, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sadar, Ranchi, issued prohibitory orders within a 200-meter radius of the centers under Section 163 of the BNSS.
The exam coincided with a Ranchi bandh called on Saturday, March 22, 2025, by tribal organizations demanding the removal of the Siram Toli flyover ramp. The ‘Sirmatoli Bachao Morcha,’ leading the protest, claimed the ramp was an encroachment on a religious site.
Some candidates faced difficulties reaching their centers due to the bandh, though essential services were exempted from the strike.
The UPSC RTS exam is a competitive recruitment test conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to fill government vacancies.
