New Delhi, September 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the successful launch of the GSLV-F17 mission carrying the EOS-05 imaging satellite, calling the achievement a matter of pride for the country.
In a post on X, Modi said the successful mission demonstrated India’s progress in space technology, innovation and operational capabilities.

The EOS-05 satellite, carried by the GSLV-F17 launch vehicle, is an imaging satellite designed to operate from a geosynchronous orbit. The mission marks another step in India’s efforts to expand its Earth-observation and space-based capabilities.
Modi also pointed to the growing involvement of Indian industry in the country’s space programme. He said the expanding cooperation between ISRO and domestic companies was providing additional momentum to the sector and strengthening India’s wider space ecosystem.
The Prime Minister said the partnership between the space agency and industry would help expand India’s capabilities across different areas of the space sector.
The successful launch comes as India’s space programme continues to develop through greater technological innovation and increased participation by the private sector.
The mission is expected to further contribute to India’s capabilities in satellite-based imaging and Earth observation, while strengthening the country’s position in the global space sector.
